Tenuous Tuesday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

There was a lot going on in photo #1...  First of all Scarlett Lee in her pink cowgirl hat was driving this Amarillo pinto for all it was worth.  She had her heels dug in and was posting to keep her diaper in the saddle and had a hank of mane to steer the whole show...  On the back, in the chariot, Miss Lily was waving to the eager and curious as they flew through the stockyards...

Heavy overcast this morning and 7 miles visibility.  Winds were early out of the SE by 4.8kts and the sea surface had some tack.  The air temperature was 61.3 and the water is 63.5 at the buoy.  Low tide was at 9:15am +0.6' and high tide will be at 4:47pm +3.8'.  We have a 2.6' WNW swell out of 283º and it was 2' to 3' this morning and there were some quick ones before the wind came up...

Twice a day they parade these longhorns through what remains of the Fort Worth stockyards.  Kinda reminds you of Cannery Row in Monterey, California where they've turned the vacated canneries into tourist attractions.  Although in Monterey they don't run a school of sardines down the main thoroughfare...  We'd recommend it to those who like to delve into a bit of cowboy nostalgia or Texas lore...

Yes, it's true, we'll be heading out of town to "the loveliest fleet of islands that lies anchored in any ocean."  Thank you Mark Twain...  If we plan this correctly we might be able to avoid the entire wet blanket of "June Gloom" in Southern California...  The Surf & Culture Report will be sporadic when it arrives at all and cryptic if it does...  But when inspired we'll give it a shot...

"When the surf breaks, we'll fix it"
