Three Tenors Tuesday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

Some tiny ones this morning, but did that stop Vishnevsky, Leko, Garcia, McTaggart & Paine.  Hell, NO!  (They sound like a law firm...)  Clear skies and 20+ miles visibility.  Winds were offshore by 2.7kts and the sea surface was smooth.  The air temperature was 64.3˚ and the water was 59.2˚, which makes it 2˚ colder than it was on New Year's Day!  High tide was floating it at 6:38am +3.9' and low tide was at 12:58pm +0.7'.  We have a 2.3' swell out of 210˚ SSW and it was effectively half of the swell height.  Supposed to get better as the week progresses...

As most of you know Ken Norris, Genevieve Carlisle's longtime companion, passed away a few weeks ago.  On May 3, at 4:30pm there will be a memorial for Ken at the New Horizons Clubhouse.  Everyone is invited to come, have a sip of Sailor Jerry's™ and Coke™ and share your favorite Ken stories...  Here he is in the cockpit of an F-86 Sabre Jet.  Not quite Mach 1 but getting close...

Then there was this painter in El Salvador.  Unimpeded by harnesses, straps or belts, he stands atop a thirty foot scaffolding with a forty foot bamboo pole with a roller on the end.  He was painting the guy cable on the outrigger of this building's roof.  His only nod to some semblance of safety was the fact he had his stouter comrade sitting on the other side of the plank he was see-sawing on while he painted.  The Professor said he took the photo and then had to turn away...
