It's An Informal Thursday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

So you probably got a photo for your "Informal Thursday" with not much else...  This should fix all that...

Our first photo today is from a recent shoot by Paul Roustand an internationally regarded body-art artist.  Paul is originally from Chicago, but upon moving to the South Bay fell in with some of our history and cultural iconography.  Riffing on Pink Floyd's famous poster, he substituted So. Bay themes instead.  From l. to r. there's the Tim Kelly statue, skating and skateboarding, punk rock scene, the Hermosa sun/volleyball logo, the Redondo Pier and the power plant.  Among the models were our own, Morgan Sliff, Suzi Paine and Amber Jones...

Hazy sun this morning with 10 miles visibility.  Winds were light offshore by 3.6kts and the sea surface was smooth.  The air temp started out cool at 62.4 and the water is 68.5.  Low tide was at 5:50am +2.7' and high tide will follow at 12:18pm +4.8'.  We have a waning west swell out of 255º at 3.3' and it was 2' to 3'.  The tide is making the difference, but not helping as much as we'd like...

Friday Happy Hour at Barney's Beanery on the outside patio.  Bring your woollies since it gets a tad breezy out there.  5:30 for the eager and curious...

Modified Townie-Woody by the Professor.  Oddly enough the inlaid chain guard probably took the longest of any of the components to cut and fabricate...  You'd think he could just leave well-enough alone...
