Another Full Moon Thursday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

Hazy this morning (#1), but the sun broke through and the wind remained offshore all morning.  The sea surface was smooth and the air temp was 64.3º and the water is 70.5º.  High tide was at 9:46am +5.3' and low tide follows at 3:48pm +1.0'.  There was a challenging SSW swell out of 204º that had some ledging rights and tubing lefts at 3' to 4' that broke hard on the middle sand bar.  The rising tide didn't seem to help matters that much, but Tarsan had things figured out and he was taking some late drops and grabbing the rail on every other left.  Ronnie was working the lefts at will and both he and Tarsan got ten or  twelve good ones...

Luau at the Professor's (#2) with the Sensei Joey, Mr. Christian, LadySpaine, Ivan, Finn and Buck on the button box...  Some good old fashion porch music...

On the road in Nashville (#3) with Mike Freid (slide guitar player), Ray Doyle (guitar and baritone guitar) and Boomfwappa (drums) after leaving Tootsies and heading over to Layla's for the 11pm show.  You don't get paid for playing in Nashville and all of the acts depend on tips from the audience...  Some groups will pay personnel they've hired for the night, but it's always a crap shoot and if they pass the hat and it comes back short...  well there's always tomorrow...

Then there's the Professor, Johnny Tatts (just before his motorcycle accident), Jetski and Anderson on the cover of "The Aliens Discover Life On Earth (Take Us To Your Leader)."  Produced by Chuck Haifly who is now in Vegas working with the Raiders!
