Third Class Thursday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

Here (#1) we have Lana on a little ripper from the Office south to middles.  She was out for a couple of hours showing the class some longboarding chops.

Your basic spring morning with 10 miles visibility under hazy skies.  Winds are light offshore and the sea surface is smooth.  The air temp is 61.2º and the water is finally over the hump to 65.1º and all we need is another blow and it will drop again.  Low tide was at 6:12am -0.3' and high tide will follow at 1:18pm +3.2'.  Yesterday it was actually better at the lowest tide since it broke off the farthest sand bar and had a modicum of shape.  Looking a tad walled but still working enough to be fun.  We have a SSW swell out of 213º at 3.0' and it's 2' to 3' and fun enough...

Then we have the Professor (#2) checking to see if there's room for a month worth of Boomfwappa's luggage in the back of this Uber.  A recon to southern Portugal, ending up with a visit to Santi in western Spain.

And not just Boomfwappa, but Steve Jones will be meeting us along the way in several Portuguese locations.  Here (#3) he leaves us an arrow to mark our path in the correct direction.  Steve is a renowned world traveler and he and his wife Christine will be finishing up 6 weeks in the Iberian Peninsula!
