Tilting At Windmills Tuesday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

We were jumping sharks when who should swim by?  You got it, Barbie & Ken!  They were jumping sharks too.  What are the chances?!  Meanwhile, the crew spent Labor Day surfing high tide Hermosa and channeling Cervantes, Doc suggested we were "tilting at windmills."  We're not sure Cervantes used that exact phrase, but he meant that Don Quixoté was fighting imaginary enemies.  Doc maintained we were trying to ride imaginary waves.  But like Quixoté, our hearts were in the right place...

10 miles visibility under cloudy skies.  Winds were fluky and the sea surface was lightly textured.  The air temperature was 65.3º and the water is 69.3º and needs a bit more sun.  Low tide was at 7:03am +2.2' and high tide will be at 1:43pm +5.4'.  We have a SSW swell out of 192º at 3.9' and it was a solid 3', but you had to be patient.  It was another Sapphy day and was great for a 30 minute window and then gave up to the high tide...

Off to the wilds of Idaho for a few days, but we'll be back on Sunday.  The report will be sporadic and disjointed, but we're trying to figure out how that's different from usual...
