Sometimes On Saturday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

Okay, we're back from our jaunt to Mexico and dodging Corona Virus vectors in various airports...  We asked Clarke if he was worried about getting the Corona Virus and he said, "Not if I can find a girl with Lyme Disease"  Great...  Our nephew said the worst thing was that now he has to wash his hands...

This group was holding forth at Casa Don Congrejo as Don was making his famous "Acid Ball" Margaritas.  From L. to R. we have Troy Atkeson, who started his knee boarding career at the the Wedge.  He rides his own version of a Greenough Spoon and he didn't go out until the last day we were in Puerto because it wasn't big enough to satisfy his power requirements.  We'll see if we can share a couple of his rides...  Canada Lee has been coming to Puerto for the last thirty years and is a denizen of the tanning scene.  He and Jeff (Jeffers) Pendleton are regularly locked in for first place in the over 60 Division...  LoLa and Tarsan were reveling in the banter...

Great clouds this morning with 10 miles visibility and offshore winds 6 to 8 kts and smooth seas.  The air temp. was 57 and the water is 60.8.  Low tide was at 6:45am 1.4' and high tide follows at 12:27pm 3.0'.  We have a WSW swell out of 239º at 3.3' and it was a solid 2' and pretty walled in the a.m.  Supposed to be windy tomorrow, but we'll take a look and see if March comes in like a lion...

On the concrete pad of the outdoor shower Joe (Dr. 360) Wolfson inscribed his name while he was part owner of the apartment there.  He was a real character in the South Bay's body-boarding/body-surfing community who met a tragic end after being diagnosed with cancer...

Finally, before we left we added an "S" to this sign (#3) to make it  "STUTZAMALA", where we imagine Christian Stutzman's relatives were from originally...

"When the surf breaks, we'll fix it"
The Professor!!
