Touchdown Tuesday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

Okay, we're football idiots.  The last time we paid much attention to the pig-skin thing was when the Rams were in town.  (Unless, you're talking about eating the piggy - then that's something else.)  So we made our way up to Boise, Idaho, where they take their football pretty damned seriously, just to see some real fanatics.  We were not disappointed!  The Boise Burke Clan provided us with a full-on tailgating rig and let the Professor drive it to the stadium (#1).   You'd be surprised how folks get out of the way when you're barreling down on them with several tons of converted milk-truck painted Boise blue and orange...

A beautiful day in lotus land where we had clear skies and 17 miles visibility.  Winds were calm at checkout and turned to a light ripple and almost a chop at the end of the morning.  The air temperature was 60.5° and the water is holding at 66.0°.  High tide was pretty high at 9:29am +6.3' and low tide was dredging at 3:52pm -0.3'.  The buoy was showing a west swell out of 261° at 3.9' and it was hitting us fairly squarely at 3' to 4'.  Some fun ones!

We didn't just hang out in the parking lot...  We got into the game and, as anticipated, they beat the snot out of Tulsa.  By the time JRS snapped this shot Boise was far ahead and had their 3rd string quarterback playing.  We were sitting so close that when he came on the field, from deep on the bench, we heard him say, "Damn, it really IS blue..."

Finally, we have the ever popular Jillian Vieira, celebrating her birthday Bronco style with a blue cake that bled orange.  Jilly, is now eighteen fingers old!  We have her listed as cutest Portagee girl in Boise...
