King Of The World Wednesday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

Cliff Hugoboom has a raft of collectors quality boards, so if you liked that Koa we had yesterday, take a look at this Simmons Slot model that Greg Noll copied from an original.  It's got so many planing surfaces that it's no wonder that it took an engineer like Simmons to meld them all into a working unit.  It has an extra piece of balsa scarfed onto the nose to provide the necessary kick and it goes back into a concave tail with dual keels.  It's also a miracle that Noll could accurately transform them into this gorgeous surfboard.

Still the graydom persists (the sun won't shine and the sky won't rain) with 7 miles visibility.  Winds were onshore from sunrise at 3kts and the sea surface continues to sport that heavy ripple.  The air temp is 61.4˚ and the water is 67.5˚.  Low tide is at 5:13am -1.1' and high tide will be at 11:35am +5.0'.  We still have a SSW swell running out of 206˚ at 2.6'.  But like it's been, it hasn't made the corner and we have 1' waves with poor shape.
