Witch Of Agnesi Wednesday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

A successful surf class yesterday!  Here we have Susie and Gabe passing the final with flying colors.

Some High clouds this morning and 17 miles visibility.  Winds were calm, but there was still some residual bumpiness from yesterday's persistent westerly wind.  The air temp was 63.3˚ and the water was 66.6˚, but felt warmer.  High tide was at 5:42am +3.0' and low tide will follow early at 10:18am +2.1'.  We have a WSW swell out of 258˚ at 3.0' and the surf is a fun little 2' to 3' and a bit wally-crashy...  More tide, less wind...

We have it on good authority that the Pheasant Pluckers will be playing at Keegan's on Friday the 19th at 7pm.  We plan to be there and scuff up the new paint on the dance floor...  Maybe Happy Hour before - we'll let you  know...

Oh yeah, the "Witch of Agnesi."  That's when you have a plane cubic curve that is symmetric about the y-axis and approaches the x-axis as an asymtote that is constructed by drawing lines from the origin intersecting an upright circle tangent to the x-axis at the origin and taking the locus of points of intersection of pairs of lines parallel to the x-axis and y-axis each pair of which consists of a line parallel to the x-axis through the point where a line through the origin intersects the circle and a line parallel to the y-axis through the point where the same line through the origin intersects the line parallel to the x-axis through the point of intersection of the circle and the y-axis.  Named after Danger Boy's neighbor...˚
