A Moody Monday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

Our photo is what happens when the I-Phone challenged photographer discovers the "pan" feature.  From the 10th floor of the Hyatt Regency, San Francisco, looking east...

A gray morning, dawning apparently earlier, with 5 miles visibility.  Winds were offshore by 4.3kts and the sea surface was smooth, with a slow roll.  The air temperature was 60.9˚ and the water, considering it's November, was not bad at 64.9˚.  High tide was full at 8:46am +6.7' and really low at 3:50pm -0.8'.  The surf was from the west at 260˚, running 3.9' at the buoy, but on the beach it was jacking to 4' to 6' with some rather hectic take-offs and thick lips.  Fun for the patient and persistent...

Tomorrow there will be a surf contest between Redondo and Mira Costa.  Since 'Costa came into existence there has been an intense rivalry between the two and nowhere is that more in evidence than in the surf.  For the first time in several years, Redondo has an outside chance of squeaking by the Mustangs.  Come on down and catch some of the action!  26th St. Manhattan Beach, first heat hits the water at 7am!
