Try Not Thinking Of It As A Thursday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

The Professor and our friend Gabriel Carta at his home in Chia, Sardinia.  Gabri has three passions:  Surfing, Tango and stone masonry, he's also a pretty damned good cook.  We met him in El Salvador about a year ago and he invited us to visit him when he got home.  He's traveled all over the world, dancing and surfing.  When we met him in El Salvador, he was heading to Guatemala to work with a noted Tango instructor.  His home is a testament to his craft, using native stone that he collected from the local mountains and brought to his property.  He built the entire thing from the ground up...

Hazy sun this morning with 10 miles visibility.  Winds were calm and the sea surface was smooth.  The air temp was 59.3 and the water was 68.5 and felt good in the cool air.  High tide was at 10:17am +5.0' and low tide will follow at 3:58pm +1.2'.  We have a west swell out of 256º at 3.6' and it was 3' to 4' with some ear-lobe high peaks and some fun runs...  Maybe a bit smaller tomorrow...

(#2)  LoLa walking along the beach near Chia.  The stone tower in the background is about 500 years old and was manned to protect the coast from invading pirates.  Must have worked, there wasn't a pirate in sight...

Friday, we'll be hanging out at Samba for the happy hour.  Starts at 5:30 and goes until the sun sinks slowly into the west.  Maybe even later, but wear your shades and something for the cool...  Like how much cooler can shades be...??

Tandis casting a sideways glance at the table of onlookers from Newport Beach.  In no time we had them dancing and carrying on.  There was also the Peruvian guy who kept jumping up to dance with TM.  His girlfriend kept peeling him off and hauling him away, only to have him slip back and grab another dance with Tandis...
