Lost Boys & Co...

In every pandemic there's a silver lining.  Well, maybe not silver, maybe black.  In this case (#1) Lord Vader is making his usual pitch for the Dark Side.  He has just been nominated to run for governor of Georgia...  (photo credit:  J. Bacallao for The Tattooine Twin Sun)

The tide is red and we're moving on...
Making for some spectacular luminescent waves in the evening.  But this morning we had 20+ miles visibility and relatively cloudless skies.  Winds were out of the SE by 4kts and the sea surface was smooth.  The air temperature was 60.5 and the water is warming to 64.6.  High tide was at 7:36am +4.9' and low tide will be at 1:47pm -0.1', as we get closer to the full moon on the 7th.  There's a west swell out of 270º true, at 3.6' and it's 2' to 4' and this is one of those days when getting into the water would be really nice... Every town needs one and Hermosa has it's own "Bubble Lady." (#3)  In no time at all she was surrounded by the eager and bubble deprived who shunned social distancing and charged around chasing bubbles.  The prevailing wisdom was that bubbles are soap, soap is a great disinfectant and chasing bubbles (and possibly ingesting the aerosol they create upon bursting) could only be good for you.  The President has not spoken directly to this, but we can only imagine he would agree...
