Another President's Day Monday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

"After a year of riding waves every day, one surfer decided to keep going..."  If you get The Surfer's Journal then you want to take a look at page 12 and read our own Jah Morgan's journey to maintaining her streak.  It's a great read, but doesn't tell a fraction of her commitment and courage in the face of all the adversities (and yeah, some adversaries as well) and adventures along the way.  We know where she hangs out, in case you wanna get your copy signed...  (She hangs out mostly on the nose #1)

Partly cloudy this morning with 10 miles visibility and winds out of the southeast at 5kts.  A slight roll to the sea surface and chilly water at 55.9º, although it beat the 47.9º air.  High tide was at 11:00am +4.5' and low tide was at 5:26pm +0.5'.  We have a consistent swell out of 260º west at 4.6'.  It was 4' to 6' with some bombers coming through Burnout, if you didn't mind the sand blasting endings.  Of course you could go to Sapphire with 35 of your favorite citizens (#2) celebrating President's Day...  Should be less crowded mañana...

How you know when you're not in your own bed (#3)...

High in the mountain reaches of Idaho with the Professor, Buck and the Maharishi (#4).  We made a crash run to the top of the Bluebird Cornice and when we got back the lama asked us if we had seen the gods?   Being relatively honest, we answered, "No."  He smiled and said, "Well, then you didn't get to the top..."

"When the surf breaks, we'll fix it"
The Professor!!
