Folks With Spokes Wednesday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

Fog was thick when we started out riding our velocipedes this morning, but don't ya know that it was clearing by the time we got to the Redondo Pier (#1).  Winds were light onshore, but the surface was bumped a bit and the wet air dropped the temperature down to 49.9º and the water to 57.4º, which is a low for this year.  Low tide was at 7:44am +1.4' and high tide was at 1:18pm +3.5'.  There's a west swell out of 259º at 3.3' and it was a foggy, wobbly 3' to 4'.

We managed to go in and out of the fog, but it was sunny by the time we reached our destination (#2), the ever popular "Ronnie's Diner."  We were quickly advised that the secret to off menu items was Hollandaise sauce.  We ordered the Portagee Bowl (with Hollandaise) and it was great!  Tons of linguica, fresh eggs, rice and the sauce...  Yow-zum!  Then back into the fog...

Some things never change, but some things do...  We found out that Monday, Jimmy Young (Pitcher House owner, wetsuit denier and cold water SUP'er) headed out for Florida with not so much as a fare-thee-well.  Well, we're going to say it, "Fare-thee-well and don't let your paddle hit you in the ass!"  A legend in and out of the water, we're going to miss him... (#3  Shown here with Rasta Pete, J.P. and Jimmy Utah.)

If you see this man (#4) go surfing with him!  Answers to "Larry Dairy" and is due to come into town in a day or two...  Be on the lookout!

He's in and we'll be out for 10 days ion the wilds of Idaho with the Maharishi Larkin and Buck Delameter.  We'll be in and out of radio contact, but the report should re-surface about the 15th for your reading pleasure...
