#1) Here we have a "Crayfish Castle." The crayfish build these mounds out of the mud in which they live and live in the bottom of these towers. We had no idea. We thought they lived in rocks, along the bottom of creeks and in places where they could feast on your toes if you got too close. Everything we knew was wrong. What we did know was that this was a bad year for crayfish. For whatever reason, the catch was at an all time low. The prices have risen and many restaurants are taking them off the menu for the time being. The fact that Jetski and Clarke eat several pounds a year couldn't possibly have any impact...

Overcast this morning in the South Bay with 5 miles visibility. Winds were out of the west by 1 to 2 kts and the surface was lightly textured. The air was 55.2º and the water is an uninspiring 56.8º. Low tide is at 8:17am -0.2' and high tide will follow at 3:57pm +2.9'. There's a SW swell out of 226º at 2.3' and it was a weak 2' to almost 3' and awfully chilly for the experience...
Forecasting rain in the P.M. mañana, so the possibility of some water time in the morning is distinct. Then, there's always coffee...
