Vichy Water Wednesday Surf & Culture Report
Lost Boys & Co...
Once, when we were in some far-flung corner of the planet we saw a shingle that said inside you could see the dessicated corpse of an alien. They had this grainy photo that showed the item and we decided it would be worth the 50¢ to take a look. When we got to the display (which had an excellent build-up of flying saucer photographs etc.) we immediately started to laugh. What they had on display was a dried out corpse alright, but it was a stingray and not an alien. The gill slits and various structures looked a little like a face and the rest looked appropriately skeletal. We mentioned something to the kid on duty and she just shrugged and said she didn't know what it was, but she had her doubts it was an alien. Our photo shows the cartilaginous remains of a stingray that we found this morning at (of all places) Ray Bay!
Overcast this morning with 5 miles visibility. Winds were kicking up from the get-go out of the SSW at 6.5kts and the sea surface was tacked up. The air temperature was 61.3° and the water was 61.5°at the buoy and 65° on the beach. Low tide started things out early this morning at 5:04am -0.6' and high tide was at 11:37am +3.8'. The buoy was reading a swell out of 194° at 3.3' and we were calling it 2' to 3' on the beach. Seal Beach was breaking through the low tide, but blowing and a bit ragged. It's got to get better at some point!

Boomfwappa says: MJ's will stated that Boomfwappa was to play and sing
a his funeral...but check this out...Boomfwappa was having a pretty
decent backstage conversation with Al Sharpton when Boomfwappa was
telling Al that Michael wasn't strange, but everyone around him
was... Old skinny (looks bad that way) Al starts to come apart when
Boomfwappa says: Do you and Don King go to the same crackhead barber?
Al had Boomfwappa removed and Mustang Sally was taken off the
program...then that SOB steals Boomfwappa's line about whos
strange...fuck Al....That's what Boomfwappa says....Boomfwappa will NOT
be playing or perfoming any MJ songs from here on out....Boomfwappa

For some reason we ran the wrong photo yesterday. It was a cool beach break sand busting wave, but it wasn't the back of the Lighthouse Jazz Club. We're trying again...
