Late Monday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

You know things were going pretty damned smoothly until we decided to talk to Boomfwappa, who's vacationing in Idaho with Anaconda Burke and the family.  Idaho is COLD and Boomfwappa was insulating himself from the inside out with some high octane antifreeze.  We'll call him in the morning to see how it all worked out...

Another beautiful day in the Southland.  We had 25 miles visibility, under a cloudless sky.  Winds were offshore by 3.3kts and the sea surface was smooth verging on glassy.  The air temperature was 55.6° and the water was 61.0°.  Low tide was at 7:19am +3.4' and high tide was at 12:37pm +4.2'.The buoy was reading a 3.9' swell out of 258° WSW and we thought it was about 3' to 4'.

Our first photo is this morning's crew finishing up a few bowls at Brother's after getting a few at Sapphire.  Fuzzini is in town from Philly for the holiday and Gidget and Alec are wondering when it's going to snow.  Since Alec thought there really was no way to know if winter was here, we took him to the skating rink at Seaside Lagoon (photo 2.)  He and Fuzzini were blown away and decided they needed to have an outing on the ice.  Fuzzini wants pics of him on the ice in shorts and a T-shirt with palm trees in the back.  We'll let you know how that goes - We asked if we could invite Danger Boy and they just laughed...

Finally, we have a shot of the Professor's cosmetic work on the nose of his board.  He also tried a little slip-check action on the forward deck to try and get away from all  that wax residue.  It could work or it could just sand off all of his bunions.  He went for the traditional surf Iron-Portuguese-Cross motif.

"When the surf breaks, we'll fix it..."
