Suddenly Last Summer Wednesday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

Suddenly, Birdie, had this tightness in his chest and his left side felt heavy...  Then he noticed that Ivan was hanging on to him and squeezing his boob.  No, no, this was a good thing.  Different cultures show their affection in different ways.  Ivan is from west Torrance...

Hazy sunniness this morning with a bit of the hazies and 7 miles visibility.  Winds were out of the west early by 3.4kts and the sea surface couldn't wait to be rippled up.  The air temperature was 69.0° and the water was 66.7°.  Low tide was at 7:33am +0.2' and high tide will be at 2:22pm +4.9'.  The 46221 buoy tells us that we have a SSW swell out of 207° at 2.3'.  We're calling it 2', but you can go out there and get a few knee slappers, laugh a bit and have as much fun as the guys that are going to close the 405...  Maybe MORE!

Professor,
no surf report from Tokyo today, sorry. But little Thomas Vartan Rucker arrived on the 4th of July. He's named after my father Tom (used to live in Calle de Sirenas) and my Armenian grandfather Bart Vartanian (used to live in PV in the Cote D'Azur). We'll be here in Tokyo for quite a few more years so he'll be learning to surf in Chiba and Shonan, and I'm looking forward to taking him to my favourite spots in Bali and Palau.
Jason
(Congratulations to all!  We'll have to come surf Chiba with you & Thomas!...  Ed.)

Mayra Houston's Dad, Jose Miguel Couce, died on Sunday. There will be a viewing on Sunday evening, 7/10,  at 7 pm and a Mass on Monday, 7/11 at 1 pm at Rose Hills Memorial Park in Whittier.
Please share with anyone who knows Mayra.
Thank you.
Carol

Professor, you rock!!!  Thanks so much for posting Harry's Becker in your S&C Report :~).  BTW I just got back from taking the dogs for a long walk on South Beach here on San Juan Island. I could see Mt. Ranier; in visibility terms that's about 100 miles.  Kicking back here with an orange Pelligreno listening to Pipeline from my IPod mix of music and missing Redondo Beach even more.
See y'all soon.  Kisses
Marion
(We try to never miss Redondo too much...  however it helps to travel to appreciate it!   Ed.)

Sra. Linda Barahona declares the piggy is done!  The sun shines on the proceedings!

"When the surf breaks, we'll fix it..."
