Thirteen for Thursday Surf & Culture Report

The eyes have it...
The thirteen in the subject line today refers to how many surfing days we've had in a row. 17 out of 20 and 21 out of 24 if we dip back into June. It's been a fantastic first half of summer, even if the water has been a bit chilly. 5 miles visibility this morning with a really low ceiling and heavy overcast. Winds kicked up early out of the SW by 3.4kts and the surface was considerably hacked in no time. The air temp was 63.5° and the water is still not cooperating at 62.1°. Low tide was at 7:29am +1.4' and high tide will follow at 2:24pm +4.5'. The buoy is fielding a SSW swell out of 209° at 2.6' and it's probably just that, but the small surf, wind and gray have conspired to keep us out of the water this morning. Of course, if the sun breaks out and the afternoon unfolds warm and less windy, it might make for a fun pm session... keep watching...

(Gone to hell... As LoLa is fond of saying, "The road to hell is paved with hand-baskets." We carry two. You know we used to try and avoid that kind of language, but dammit, how do you describe some of the wacky things that are going on these days? If you don't use strong language people think you're just as happy as a pig in... well, shit. We try and not drop too many f-bombs, but people gotta realize everything isn't always hunky-dory and sometimes they're the right word. It's also the funniest/fun thing to say sometimes... Ed.)
