Thyratron Thursday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

Some of the foggy drizzlations this morning.  Not as bad as yesterday's fog, but a little gray for those of us now accustomed to continuous sunshine...

So 2 miles or less visibility and those overcast and drizzly skies.  Winds are offshore by 2.3kts and the sea surface is smooth.  The air temp is a cool 56.7˚, but the water is unreal at 61.0˚.  Last year at this time it was 57.1˚ and we thought that wasn't bad.  High tide is at 8:14am +6.8' and low tide will follow at 3:08pm -1.7'.  We have a west swell out of 261˚ at 4.6' and surf in the 3' to 5' range running poor to fair...  Wait for your favorite tide and hit it!

It was Redondo vs PV yesterday and the Sea Kings were on their best game and squirted past the Seahawks.  It was close for the first half then they pulled away, but not without some standout performances by the Redondo surfistas.  Men's shortboard:  Heat #2 1st place Trevor LaShure, Heat #8 1st place Luke Meyer.  Women's shortboard:  1st place Sara Curran.  Women's longboard:  1st place Paige Sullivan.  Both Sara and Paige got outrageous waves in the critical conditions.  Sara connected on a right that might have been one of the longest waves of the entire contest, while Paige switchfoot on a cutback
