Two Dimensional Tuesday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

LoLa takes out her SUP and voilá, she finds dolphins!  They were jumping in front of her, diving underneath and cavorting all around as she paddled.  The best part was, the entire time she was out there, she kept saying, I wish I had pictures of this!"  Turns out niece Hannah had seen her paddle out and took these shots with her telephoto from the beach.  How cool was that...  On the other hand the Professor went out and didn't see a dolphin all day...  Keep lookin'!

With the low hanging clouds it almost seems like weather today!  Visibility is about 12 miles and looks pretty thick.  Winds were light to calm and the sea surface was smooth with a rolling swell.  The air temperature was 58.4˚ and the water is 59.9˚.  Low tide was at 6:02am +2.0' and High tide is also in the am at 11:35am +3.9'.  We have a west swell out of 262˚ at 3.9' and it's 3' to 5' at the spots that are getting the swell and almost zero everywhere else.  Hermosa looked like the wipeout reel of your latest surf flick!  At least it could be digging some holes...

Contest tomorrow at Torrance Beach.  The Seahawks will be battling a combined team of West, North and Bishop Montgomery.  Should be fun!  Clock starts for the first heat at 6:30am sharp!
