Clear skies this morning and 20 miles visibility.  At checkout the winds were actually calm, but the sea surface remained bumped from yesterday's winds.  The air temperature was 56.6 and the water falls a tick to 58.3.  High tide was at 10:12am +5.3' and low tide will be at 4:19pm -0.1'.  We have a variable swell from west to WSW currently at 257º at 5.2', it was 4' to 5' this morning but could be a tad smaller mañana.  Check it out...

Were you breaking into something?  Did you get caught? Were you successful in your "acquisition" attempt?  Are there pictures of that? Who was with you? Who drove the getaway car? Was it the guy from a few weeks ago?  If so, did he get you on the news live? If not, why not???
 
Or, were you breaking out of somewhere?  If so, why did you create picture evidence? Or take the time to do so?  Did anyone shout "cheese it it's the fuzz!"?  Did you get caught?  If so, when is the Court date? Will Easky be representing you?  (This may not be a bad idea, if he loses he can always fly you to Mexico. May be higher odds of freedom than Lola baking a file in a cake.)

So, for all of the inquiring minds here's what happened...  No, we weren't breaking in, we were breaking out.  We didn't exactly get caught...  We were stopped.  Have you ever showed a cop your passport when he asks for identification?  Try it.  They don't know what to do...  There were three of us.  I'm not allowed to name them because of legal proceedings.  I drove the VW van away, since to our knowledge no one had ever used a bus to get away.  It worked until we parked at Brothers and the meter maid got a call on her radio.  We did NOT get on the news live.  It was all taped...  Why did we create picture evidence?  Well, everyone does it now and it seemed like a good idea.  It was more like documentation.  No one shouted "cheese" or any version of that, although someone shouted "Escuchame!"  There is not a court date at this time, we're hoping they drop the charges.  Since we have fools for clients we will be representing ourselves.  I should also suggest that crime does not pay.  The replacement for the glass was $39.95, but it included a doggy door with a magnetic closer...

Out there in all that blue is Capitan Donaldo.  If you know where to look you can see his head bobbing cork-like in the water.  He said it was pretty good, but he's a glass half-full kind of guy...

Lost Boys & Co... P rofessor, This is a shot taken last week at a secret spot that is less than 30 miles away from you guys. Any guesses?  My buddy Dave sent it from Salta Verde Point on the backside of Catalina. Only accessible by boat or if you know someone with the key. Tip: The guy in the pic is the guy with the key! Sea Wolf... S o, apparently if you decide to leave Avalon and head to the backside you might score on a south swell.  For some reason this place looks like there might be some rocks on the inside.  No indications of that other than the boils following the guy with the key... C loudless skies this morning with 20+miles visibility.  Winds were off to 2.2kts and the sea surface had a residual bump that held all day.  The air temperature was 79.3˚ and the water was 66.4˚, apparently affected by the wind and upwelling.  High tide was at 6:55am +3.9' and low tide will be at 11:46am +2.8' for a little less than a foot differential.  There's a SW swell out of

S ancho, on this morning's Sruf Familia thread said it best, "Somber rainy day for Jimmy."  J immy Buffett died Friday, September 1.  He was 76 years old and had recently been struggling with health issues.  A Lost Boy of the first order his music was the sound-track for our lives. B ut he might have said it best: "But there's one particular harbor/ So far yet so near/ Where I see the days as they fade away/ And finally disappear." Not Forest Hills Friday Surf & Culture Report

W ho's behind those Foster-Grants?  Well, we'll bet that he's NEVER worn a pair of F-G's.  Are those Oliver People's?  Cartier's, Garrett Leight's?  We'll say Tom Ford's and he should be their poster boy.  Yep, it's Jetski in the arena at the US Open.  Looking rather trim in his court-side togs, we're waiting for his description of the action... W e continue our assault on some of the smallest waves ever ridden!  We'll have to check the Guinness book, but we think we're on to something.  So it was ten miles visibility under partly cloudy skies and winds were offshore by 5 to 7kts.  The3 air temp was 63.9º and the water was 70.7º at the ever popular #46221 Santa Monica Buoy.  High tide was at 11:01am +5.5' and low tide follows at 4:52pm +0.7'.  It turns out we observed that low tide and even with the afternoon south wind howling around 10kts, Sapphire still looked fairly smooth.  We had a south swell out o
