Back On Tuesday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

Okay, so we're back and ready to embrace the palm tree culture, after immersing ourselves in the shadows of the big trees.  Photo #1 is the famous General Grant Sequoia.  It would take around 20 people holding hands to reach around it.  Stately and amazing we spent the better part of an hour taking this all in.  Earlier in the trip, down near the river at Road's End in King's Canyon, we saw this rattlesnake (photo #2) taking in a bit of shade.  Actually, we didn't see him right away, which was part of the problem.  In fact, Paul Young, who got there a bit before we did, tried to set his bag on top of said almost invisible rattler.  Then we all knew he was there.  Photo #2 is a bit fuzzy because we were shooting from out of range and maybe just a little shaky...

Clear with 10 miles visibility this morning.  Wind was light onshore, less than 2kts and the sea surface has a light bump.  The air temperature was 61.0 and the water is 69.8 at the buoy.  High tide was at 10:59am +4.4' and low tide will be at 4:09pm +1.9'.  We had a WSW swell out of 250º at 3.3' and it was a bumped up 2' to 3' at your local sandspit...

Boomfwappa and Ché dusting off Boomfwappa's new blade (#3).  At 9'8" with a reverse t-band and double basswood stringers, it has a coke bottle green tint and a bitchin' logo of Boomfwappa as a pirate...
