Amazing Morgan Milestone Monday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

Yet another "Amazing Morgan Milestone" as she logs 1000 SURFING DAYS IN A ROW!  So next time you surf three days in a row and you're thinking, "whoa, I'm a little sore!" remember that Morgan is only 997 days ahead of you.  She was feted in fine fashion with cake, mimosas and her surf familia...  Surf a 1000 days in a row and we'll do that for you too!  Do you like chocolate or white cake?

More wind this morning as we battened down the hatches.  10 miles visibility under hazy skies and the wind was blowing out of the west at 9 to 14kts.  White caps were the order of the day.  The air temperature was 51.5 and the water has come up from the bottom at 57.0.  High tide was at 10:23am +4.6' and low tide will be at 4:07pm +0.7'.  We have a west windswell out of 275º at 4.3' and it was peaky and almost rideable at 3' to 5'.  That didn't stop Morgan and her coterie of stalwarts...  They made it look almost good!

Then we have LoLa (#2) on this "path" to a remote lagoon on Floreana where there were reports of flamingos in some numbers.  After 45 minutes of hiking over these lava clinkers we finally reached the flamingo lagoon.  There was ONE flamingo...  If you feel like your flip-flops are too thick, this trail will reduce them by about half...

About 6am one morning LoLa was heading out for a walk, when she happened on this marine turtle laying eggs in the sand about 30 yards from our bungalow.  We watched for about 15 minutes as she finished and covered up her eggs.  She then headed for the water and took off without looking back.  Of course with a shell like that, it's not easy to look back...

No news on Happy Hour for this week...  TBA...
