Galloping Galapagos Thursday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

It's a two hour flight from Quito to Baltra in the Galapagos...  We'll be staying the first few nights on the island of Santa Cruz...

One of the creatures you're going to find here is the marine iguana(#1).  They swim by undulating their tails from side to side, kinda snakelike...
Their coloration can range from black, to red, to green depending on where you find them.

In Hermosa, Redondo we have a WSW swell at 2.3' trying to make things interesting.  The water is 59.2, which doesn't make it any more inviting.  On the other hand it was freeze-ass cold in Idaho as the LoLa and the Professor tried not to stick to the side of the mountain...(#5)Inline image

In #2 the Professor goes fish story on us...  "Saw an iguana that was t-h-i-s big, his Big brother got away..."

LoLa in a rocky pool near Tortugas Bay (#3)...  the water here isn't as warm as El Salvador because of the confluence of several equatorial currents, so it was 75 instead of 85...

The real attraction here are the huge tortoises. This guy (#4) might have bee the biggest one we saw.  He was just cruising down this shady lane knocking down everything in his way...  they're like bull dozers and can rearrange a field over night...

"When the surf breaks, we'll fix it"
The Professor!!
