No Eye Witnesses Wednesday Surf & Culture Report

Once again, overwhelming our powers of ratiocination, an outrageous outage of ruin and electrical disassociation occurred during the wee hours as someone or something ran into the wall at Brother's Burritos leaving the electrical service in tatters!  But fear not!  We immediately dispatched our team of crack investigators to see if there were any cracks.  Finding evidence of an hit and run, they turned their attention to the electrical service which had been severed by the violent impact.  #1 We find Doc ? and Detective Leko, reconnoitering the scene.  They quickly decided it was most likely not an aircraft...

Well, it was cloudy this morning and LAX could have very well been obscured by the 5 miles visibility.  Also winds were onshore, though light and the sea surface was smooth to rippled.  The air temperature was 60.0º and the water is 63.1º.  High tide was at 10:58am +3.6' and low tide will be at 3:42pm +1.9'.  We have a SW swell out of 220º at 2.3' and it was a fun 2' to 3' and cleaned up quite a bit from when the surf class was in the water...

#2 Shows the point at which the electrons were severed on their way into the restaurant.  There must have been a relatively large blast and all manner of smoke and ozone.  One theory of electronics holds that all the wires and circuits carry smoke.  When those circuits are breached the smoke billows forth and the device ceases to work...

#3 Taking a rather ominous turn, there was a decapitated paper maché giraffe (#3) mangled at the scene.  There was some discussion about whether the giraffe could have been traveling at such a speed to cause the damage or whether it had been placed there as a deterrent or a warning.  Our team remained rather tight lipped about the giraffe, citing the ongoing investigation.

Finally, a cone with "EYREK ATIGER (arrow pointing at giraffe) 21"  Very interesting, but it's meaning currently unavailable to our understanding...  Our guess?  Colonel Mustard, with a mustache in the alley...

Lost Boys & Co... P rofessor, This is a shot taken last week at a secret spot that is less than 30 miles away from you guys. Any guesses?  My buddy Dave sent it from Salta Verde Point on the backside of Catalina. Only accessible by boat or if you know someone with the key. Tip: The guy in the pic is the guy with the key! S o, apparently if you decide to leave Avalon and head to the backside you might score on a south swell.  For some reason this place looks like there might be some rocks on the inside.  No indications of that other than the boils following the guy with the key... Not Forest Hills Friday Surf & Culture Report

W ho's behind those Foster-Grants?  Well, we'll bet that he's NEVER worn a pair of F-G's.  Are those Oliver People's?  Cartier's, Garrett Leight's?  We'll say Tom Ford's and he should be their poster boy.  Yep, it's Jetski in the arena at the US Open.  Looking rather trim in his court-side togs, we're waiting for his description of the action... W e continue our assault on some of the smallest waves ever ridden!  We'll have to check the Guinness book, but we think we're on to something.  So it was ten miles visibility under partly cloudy skies and winds were offshore by 5 to 7kts.  The3 air temp was 63.9º and the water was 70.7º at the ever popular #46221 Santa Monica Buoy.  High tide was at 11:01am +5.5' and low tide follows at 4:52pm +0.7'.  It turns out we observed that low tide and even with the afternoon south wind howling around 10kts, Sapphire still looked fairly smooth.  We had a south swell out o
