A Transcendent Tuesday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

So Saturday was Vanessa's (#1) birthday and she celebrated by surfing on the south side of the pier with Doc ? and the Professor.  She still claims to be learning, but she's pretty good for a novice.  She works at the Strandhouse in Manhattan and besides surfing she is a fabulous skater...

Anchored a stones throw from the beach this cable ship (#2) was getting ready to lay some coax.  The HAW-1 Transpacific cable was laid between Hawaii and the mainland in 1957 and completed to the far east in 1964...  We guarantee that the quality of the call will be better than trying to use your cell phone on Hermosa Blvd...

Checking the surf this morning (#3), we find Bob Thomas, Reneé Leyman and Doc?  Small but fun and it saw the return of Brother Ronnie Garcia to the lineup.  He hasn't missed a beat!  10 miles visibility and partly cloudy skies.  Winds were light onshore and the sea surface was slightly textured.  The air temperature was 65.3º and the water at the buoy was 65.7, but a nice 70º in the surfline.  High tide was at 7:55am +3.5' and low tide will be at 12:18pm +2.2'.  We have a SSW swell out of 209º at 3.0' and it was 1' to 2½' with some nice little peaks...
