Moonbeam Monday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

Been on the smallish side for the last couple of weeks.  #1) Bob and Steve trying to make it look bigger...  No matter.  It was partly cloudy this morning and visibility was 10 miles.  Winds were light but fluky turning on about 9:30.  The air was 67.5º and the water beat it by a tenth at 67.6º, but Doc ? says it's warmer and Tarsan said it was over 70.  High tide was at 6:40am +3.3' and low tide was early at 11:15am +2.0'.  The swell is out of the south 177º at 3.0' and it was 1' to 2' with some bigger outsides and lefts made specifically for pig-dogging into the pier...

#2) Ainsworth looking like the French Riviera.  There never used to be beach umbrellas.  We used to make fun of people who brought them down.  Now there are full-on tents, pop-ups and make-shift shelters...  Global warming and the evil sun have changed everything...

In 1812 Don Francisco de Paula Marin began brewing beer in Hawaii.  You can imagine how welcome this fresh tasting lager hit it off with the locals and gave the missionaries fits.  It caught on with the locals, visitors and watermen who visited the islands.  In 1897 they started calling it "Primo" (#3) and it's been Hawaii's beer ever since.  It's unique flavor and aroma are a product of a bit of raw sugar cane added to the brew...  It probably drives true beer aficionados crazy, but we like it anyway...
