Trying To Reason With Hurricane Season Monday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

Disaster was narrowly averted this morning as trace amounts of rain fell throughout the South Bay (#1).  Tarsan reported large drops of water on his bicycle seat and Jetsky was forced to move all of his boxes indoors to avoid mold on his entire shoe collection.  Larry Dairy escaped the floods in Arizona, only to find himself side-slipping down the Strand, out of control into a four-top at Martha's.  Cloudy drizzly skies and 3 miles visibility with little or no wind.  The air temperature is 66.0º and the water is 67.1º at the buoy.  Low tide was at 5:54am -0.9' and high tide is at 12:25pm +4.4'.  We have a weak SSW swell out of 205º at 2.6' and it's .5' to flat in Hermosa...

There are a couple of sides to this story.  Number one suggests that the Professor flew from the pier, all the way to the middle of the lineup (#2) and made a rather spectacular landing inches away from Soraya.  Number 2, (#3) submits that he took off in front of Doc ? (and Ronnie beyond that) and when he felt Docs icy fingers on his back, did a standing broad jump of well over 20' and landed in mostly sand, having gone right over the back of the wave.  Either way, he has stated that he will be using a cape for future flights...  Big fucking deal Jeff Bezos...
