Return To The Sea Thursday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

A couple of other views of the "Return to the Sea" ice sculpture.  Considering the material, a great white (#1) was a natural for this display.  Then there's a grouper (#2) that would look good floating in a martini glass.  A big martini glass...  Finally the title sheet of ice (#3) and our cue to head back to the beach...

Gonna be a warm one today as the thermometer read 58.3º in the air this morning and 59.7º in the water.  Visibility was 20+ miles and winds were light.  The sea surface was smooth.  High tide was at 4:33am +4.6' and low tide follows at 12:35pm +0.3'.  It's a west swell out of 279º at 3.0' and that was it on the nose, with just a little crunching on the inside.  Earlier is better for the next week to take advantage of the tide...

Professor Pepper, holds Exhibit A (#4) which you may first imagine is a fish, then at second glance a trophy and finally the left foot of his fishy sandals.  He got them on-line, of course, and now they're probably backed up waiting to get into Long Beach and finally on to your feet...  Kinda gives a new meaning to "flip-flops."

"When the surf breaks, we'll fix it"
The Professor!!
