McCall #5 Friday Surf & Culture Report (Thoughts Turning Edition)

Lost Boys & Co...

Our thoughts turn to that fateful day 8 years ago when Jah Morgan decided she was going to surf every day for a year.  Well, we all know how that turned out, don't we.  And we watched her on the cam this morning still surfing like the surf goddess she is, along with the other goddesses she's inspired, like Anna, Marion, Ginny, Millie etc. etc.  Carry on Jah!  We love you! (#1.  Bacallao, Jah, Christiano, Ginny)

Then our thoughts turned to the conditions!  Like partly cloudy skies with ten miles visibility.  Winds out of the south by 2 to 5kts and the sea surface has a bit of texture.  The air temp is 68.7° and the water is 67.8°.  Low tide was at 6:29am +0.1' and high tide is full at 1:11pm +4.0'.  It's a west swell out of 269° at 3.0' and it's 2' to3' with some better outsides.

With thoughts still revolving, we read SeaWolf's account of the beginning of the Lost Boys (and consequently the Surf & Culture Report) Surf Club.  We wait with eager anticipation further installments!  (We hope he remembers Weird Jeff.  No, not Rip, but Weird Jeff.)

Finally, for a Friday, our thoughts turn to Robert the guy who has the Jesus van.  Maybe we should have said "had", since he apparently passed on to his anticipated reward recently.  We applaud his resolve at trying to win us over to his brand of semi-militaristic Christianity (he wore that colonel's hat and a cobbled together uniform) and his unflagging devotion to his purpose.  We can only hope that a band of angels met him at the pearly gates and ushered him in!

"When the surf breaks, we'll fix it"
