Warm Water Wednesday Surf &. Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

So here (#1) we have a map of an area in south Florida.  You will note a number of extremely warm water temps in this area, but none quite as amazing as the buoy off of Manatee Bay which registered a whopping 101.1°!  Now we thought this was a misprint, BUT NO! It was legit and now they're telling us that this is the second time it's gone over a hundred in that area.  They're claiming that in 2017 it got up to 102°, but now they're saying that they thought their findings at the time were suspect.  Apparently the folks in Florida have lost their collective #%&#$+! minds and view climate change as a hoax.  What's it going to take to make all these people take notice?  They continue to dump silt producing effluent into the bay and that heats things up at an even greater rate!   Is this the tipping point?  Will there be no pedaling/paddling back from the brink?  We're in the water every day.  We know how little it takes to fuck up the environment.   This is NOT GOOD...

And then at home it's foggy because inland is having extreme heat.  Winds are onshore and the sea surface is smooth.  Here the air is 66.2° and the water is 69.3°.  Low tide was at 8:55am +2.2' and high tide is at 4:30pm +5.0'.  There's a SW swell out of 217° at 2.3' and it was 1' and breaking on the sand.  Cross your fingers for tomorrow...
