An Occasional Sunday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

So this weekend we've had some pretty good surf.  On Saturday, Hermosa Pier was host to the Pirate Hooker event.  Either the first or second annual, depending on what you thought last year's feeble attempt rated.  This year there were around 25 hearty souls who made it their business to bring pirate consciousness to the desperate and lonely citizens of the South Bay...  There was a costume event, a surf and a prolonged water battle that ended with a fabulous repast at Brother's Burrito Harbor...  We'll be sharing some pics all this week...

#1 We have "Down-the-Line" Caroline abandoning ship as her foamy was shot from underneath her.  It was either shot  OR it hit a depth charge...  We may never know...

#2  Adam charging on this right hander, delivering a stinging musket shot to Capt. Jah Morgan's backside...  Actually a brilliant tactical maneuver, she couldn't properly sit for the duration...

#3  Capt. Jah Morgan, reloading as she hides behind this three footer...  At one point she hastily removed her sword and severed her bikini's main shroud...  This briefly left her flanks exposed, but she quickly battened down the luffing jibs and retied the mainsheet...

#4  Black Brendan "Scourge of the Southern Cross®" fumbles with his musket as not-so-Christian, Christian prepares to sever his head from it's perch on his shoulders.  The good news is his parrot still has a place to perch.  The bad news is that he got his hat wet...
