We Need Better Weaponry Wednesday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

From what we could tell, the only problem this July 4th was that we really needed some more sophisticated weaponry.  Some of the crew went down to Balboa to celebrate the 4th and catch the boat parade with Marty Burke Jr. and his lovely wife Rhonda.  We weren't prepared for the conflagration that greeted us on the ride home!  As near as we could tell, all of the cities that border the 405 were shooting off their star-spangled salutes - directly over the freeway!  Actually, Julia and the Professor swear they saw a rocket come flying down the freeway before it arced over and out of the northbound middle lane!  In photo #1 we have the Professor before his ill-timed run to the nose (photo credit: Paddle Me Weekly)

Blue skies this morning with 10 miles visibility.  Winds were out of the south at 5.2kts and the sea surface was lightly chopped.  The air temperature was 64.3 and the water is 65.5.  High tide was at 8:47am +3.5' and low tide will be at 1:27pm +2.2'.  We have a 3.0' swell out of 198º SSW and it was a small 1' to 2' on this almost oblique swell...  Supposed to get bigger for the weekend...

Tandis Morgan overlooking part of the Napili Coast.  She and Jack took a week's vacation and he shared with her a local's hiking view of Maui...

When this photo #3 came to us, we were told it was a new vehicle destined to go to Mars.  On closer inspection, it's actually a boat!  Imagine our disappointment...  In fact, can you believe the design and technology of this thing?  We're pretty much sure that all you'd need are bigger engines and you COULD use it to go to Mars...
