Never Don't Give Up Wednesday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

It's late and we were looking at one of those pop-up ad slide shows that feature all manner of oddities including Wal-Mart patrons, prom mistakes and bizarre wedding photos.  #1 was in the "tattoos gone wrong" slide show.  If you're amused by double negatives, then this will tickle you...  If not, you might consider this for your next ink job...

Partly cloudy this morning burning off early.  10 miles visibility.  Winds were out of the SW gusting to 5.2kts early and trying to blow out the show. The air temperature was 69.1 and the water is 70.0, although it felt warmer in the surfline.  Low tide was at 5:29am +0.6' and high tide brims at 11:48am +4.8'.  There's a west swell out of 269º at 3.3'.  It was 3' to 4' and you either had to hit it early or hide from the wind...

Here we have Amado from Punta Roca, El Salvador.  He's on the Barahona Team.  He came close to shooting the pier on a couple of lefts and we asked him if he ever tried shooting the pier at La Libertad.  Now there's a couple of things you have to realize about that.  #1 That pier is quite a way from the point and where it normally breaks, farther than the Malibu Pier from 1st Point, so it would have to be BIG.  Then there's the problem with all those pilings.  It's an old wooden pier and they've sunk pilings in odd places and they have about twice as many as the pier builders almanac suggests.  So the answer is they jump off the end of the pier (trying not to get impaled on the broken pilings) and shoot the newer end where the pilings are like 5' apart!  So, go ahead, you shoot it!

Jah Morgan (#3) getting a run on this right hander off the Hermosa pier...  She, Amado and Mr. Christian made it look a lot better than it was...

So if you're a Lost Boy this compass rose (#4) might be the perfect addition to your tat repertoire...  Is there any wonder why some people are looking really lost out there...

No word on Happy Hour this Friday, but we did hear that the Roadium will be showing the "Endless Summer" in their summer drive-in series.  "There we were in Gardena and it was midnight...  But Robert didn't care and Mike didn't care..."

"When the surf breaks, we'll fix it"
