No Country For Old Men Wednesday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

When we first took a look (#1), it was 3' with some sets and some lulls long enough to paddle your butt into the lineup and get ready.  20 minutes later, it was thumpingly consistent and tried smashing our longboarding ass into the pier.  As you can see it was beautifully clear and winds were calm.  The air temperature was 49.9F/9.94C and in the water 62.4F/16.88C.  High tide was at 6:08am +3.9' and a quick tide change to low at 10:09am +3.3'.  We have a SSW swell out of 195º at 4.3' and it was 3' to 5+ and if you could get past the deep inside section, you had it made...

That (#2) friends is an International Harvester.  Famous for tractors, combines and cotton pickers they also made these great surf vehicles, although in all fairness to the IH folks, they didn't KNOW that's what they were doing.  Jah, scored this beater and will be refurbishing it and in no time we'll be asking for a ride...  Call it "Cherry Pie"...

Need a place to park?  All you have to do is get up there (#3) and you've reduced your footprint by a bunch...  (Somewhere in New England, photo Reets)

Meanwhile, the Baywatch (#4) had the daunting task of trying to find a dinghy sailor who paddled out of the harbor on Monday evening.  Witnesses saw him hit the pier and then he disappeared.  We checked with the LAC Guards this morning and still no luck...
