The Lion, The Rain & The Wednesday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

We've made a couple of resolutions for 2023, but we're not going to share them because we're superstitious about them failing for sure if we reveal them.  Another resolution is to be less superstitious...

Cloudy with rain intermittent to heavy at times.  Less than a mile visibility and the wind is blowing offshore from 8 to 10kts driving the rain ahead of it.  In photo #1 you can see this charger taking off INTO the wind, rain and Office.  Didn't knock, nothing...  But he was out there even though the air was a damp 59.0º and the water was 58.8º.  The high tide was just cresting about this time (7:00am +6.0') and in #2  he's getting down and jiggy with it.  Low tide is at 2:31pm -0.7'.  At checkout we were catching a west swell out of 260º at 6.2', handing us some 5' to 8' waves.  All the models are telling us that it will continue to build for the next couple of days.  If you're interested in checking it out tomorrow, you might want to pack your umbrella, at least in the a.m....

Here at the Mar Y Fuego Trump Tower Suites we are being attacked by an ant plague.  We have followed the line of ants, one half going east to the window and the other half going west, to somewhere behind the refrigerator.  They are not carrying anything that we can see and are moving silently.  The line has got to be about 12' long and so far they have not found the fudge, Halloween candy or Ginny's surfboard chocolates.  Right now we're estimating about 250 ants are marching.  We've plugged up the hole at the window with QuakeHold® and are awaiting results...
