Lost Boys & Co...

Although I usually don't respond to anonymous comments, these seemed to warrant a word or two.  Last Friday there were some comments posted on the blog that suggested the Lost Boys had called some 16 year old kid a racial slur and chased him out of the water.  I would like to categorically state that no one associated with this list or in the Lost Boys has ever conducted themselves in that manner.  This group started more than ten years ago consisting mainly of fellow surfers from south RB.  We raised our kids and our friends kids surfing together and engendering a spirit of camaraderie and aloha.  All of our kids have been in the Jr. Guard program and we have taught dozens of children and adults to surf.  If this event took place as "Anonymous" suggests, then we find those responsible as reprehensible as he/she does.

A wind blown 20 miles visibility this morning with cloudless skies.  Winds are in the 20 to 25kt. range and the seas are predictably choppy.  The air temperature was 51.3°and the water was 54.7° at 8am this morning.  Thanks to the wind the water temp has dropped almost 4°.  Only one tide of consequence this morning at 8:50am +0.6'.  The buoy is reading a 8.5' swell out of 271° and we're calling it 6' to 8' and really bumped.

This sign greeted us as we attempted to take a stroll down the bikepath.  We imagine that underneath those shifting sands is Manhattan Beach...
