Third World Thursday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

We were trying to show off Danger Boy's shiner to the best effect, but it wasn't coming out right.  So, Ivan suggested that he try some different facial expressions.  Good!  This was the "sneer."  Kinda obvious that he hasn't practiced his sneer in a while...

Clear this morning with 25 mph visibility.  Winds were offshore by 2.7kts and the sea surface was smooth to glassy.  The air temp was warmer at 54.2° and the water held steady at 58.6°.  Low tide was at 6:03am +2.3' and high tide followed at 11:44am +4.5'.  We have a WSW swell out of 258° at 3.6' and it was a solid 3' with some fatter, bigger outsides.  The swell's been holding and should work through the weekend.

This IS a caution...
Caution about drinking and driving this Christmas Season
I would like to share an experience with you all, about drinking and driving. As you well know,
some of us have been known to have had brushes with the authorities on our way home
from the odd social session over the years.  A couple of nights ago, I was out for a few drinks
with some friends and had a few martinis and a very nice Merlot.   Knowing full well I may
have been slightly over the limit, I did something I've never done before – I took a bus home.
I arrived home safely and without incident, which was a real surprise, as I have never driven a
bus before and am not sure where I got this one.
(Thank you Edrina.  We kept wondering why the bus wouldn't stop when we pulled the cord.  We went by PCH and Crenshaw THREE times.  We finally arrived at Ave. A and PCH and that was close enough...  Ed.)

Kincaid's on the REDONDO Pier.  We know you have many piers to choose from and who knows how many jetties.  4pm in the bar, New Year's Eve.  No host everything.  Just trying to be helpful

Finally, we watched the fog erase a perfectly clear afternoon...
