1952 Vincent Black Lightning Wednesday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

We're going through our mail and before we can throw away this one piece of junk mail we notice it has a 1973 VW bus on the cover.  Then we give it a closer look and hell, that's our bus!  Okay, so it's like they're advertising lifestyle and it just happens to be ours...  They have no idea what they're getting into...

A tad foggy again this morning with a half a mile visibility, not breaking up until the mid-afternoon.  Winds were on early at 3.0kts and the sea surface was a smooth roll.  As long as it stays so hot inland we're sure to get some marine layer and onshore winds.  The air temperature was 61.5 and the water was 64.2.  High tide was at 8:16am +3.9' and low tide will be at 1:23pm +1.4'.  We have a SSW swell out of 199º at 4.3' and it was 3' to almost ear-high with some nice drops and rather shapely corners...

Outside Rockwall, Texas, there's this candle shop probably run by a hippie holdout who moved to Texas from Colorado or worse California.  The scent of the month is "Coastal Man."  LoLa said, "I happen to live with a "Coastal Man" and this is not the scent you want to have wafting over your evening bath...  Unless you happen to be a coastal man and it smells like beer...  More investigation is in order...

Happy hour this week will be at Laurel Tavern.  5:30 to kick off the first happy hour of the summer.  Ride your bike!

Speaking of coastal man, here's a prime example of the specie.  Head Coach Duncan Avery of the Redondo High Surf Team.  A real professional, he and the Professor lead the Seahawks to a tie for first place in the So. Bay Surf League and a spot in the National Prep Surf Championships at Salt Creek.  A real pleasure to know, he inspires the Redondo Team on a daily basis...

"When the surf breaks, we'll fix it"
The Professor!!
