A Mordant Monday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

While Buck is touring Slovenia, playing accordion in all the great Slav Halls, his bus patiently waits for his return.  We're all excited to see when it finally hits the road.  Apparently the only way you can score a "Redondo" license plate is to get it in Utah...

10 miles visibility under clear and cloudless skies.  Winds wee light onshore at 1.9kts and the sea surface was smooth.  The air temperature was 61.3 and the water has dipped to 63.9.  Low tide was at 6:00am -1.4' and high tide will be at 12:37pm +4.4'.  We have a SW swell out of 220º at 3.3' and it was a fun 3' to 4', with some shapely lefts, as Jetski will attest.  He caught a zipper from Scotty's Bubbles to the pier and had the savages on the beach rioting...

Speaking of shapely waves, #2 features Big Wave Dave with a rather well shaped wave.  We wondered about his sudden interest in body surfing...

Finally, we have a rather long-range, out-of-focus shot of this thing called a "SUPsquatch."  Apparently anything that has "squatch" in the title is out of focus...  It carries about 6 adults paddling on their knees for all they're worth.  It's attributes are many, including:  beating your partner bloody with your paddle, rolling it and trapping the drunkest member of your crew underneath, wrestling with six adults in a bouncy house and actually catching a wave and pearling while all of the above happens simultaneously.  At last we have combined all of the negative aspects of surfing, stand-up paddling and bouncy house bouncing...
