Another St. Wenceslaus Wednesday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

Yeah, Good King Wenceslaus, or you might know him better as "Vaclav the Good."  And yes we know he really wasn't King but a prince or duke.  According to lore he was assassinated by his brother "Boleslaus the Cruel" (so far we're not making any of this up!). He was actually a day late for Christmas and we celebrate his feast day on December 26 (or the second day of Christmas.).   Maybe it's the air up here in Eagle, Idaho or the fact that we flew into Boise at 2am, but just before the wheels hit the ground our pilot decided it was too foggy to land!  We diverted to Salt Lake City and left after a restless night in the SLC airport.  Still lousy visibility here in Boise, but our pilot threw caution to the wind and his IFR and landed us perfectly on the runway and not the adjacent freeway, to the enthusiastic ovation of the faithful...

Meanwhile the surf looks like there's possibilities at Sapphire if you're patient and have a pure heart.  Winds are offshore at 5kts and the sea surface is smooth.  High tide early at 4:40am +5.2' and low tide follows at 11:35am +0.7'.  Water temps hanging around 62°, if you wish to brave the "polio pond."  We have a west swell out of 262° at 5.6' and it's busting up some sand in Hermosa.

Looks like we had the magic words to fly Julia's computer so we'll be sending our occasional messages and songs of goodwill.  "O come all ye faithful..." (#1)
"When the surf breaks, we'll fix it"
