There's A Memphis In Egypt Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

Well, we weren't too close to Memphis here in Giza as we skirted the Great Pyramid of Cheops on our way to the Nile.  As near as we could tell there isn't a bore on the Nile because the delta is so spread out that there isn't a spot where all of the incoming tide gathers and then goes up a central channel.  That's as near as we could tell.  That doesn't mean that somewhere along that stretch there isn't SOMETHING that resembles a bore.  We just didn't see it and we crossed the Nile at least a dozen times...

A beautiful Monday morning on our way to the Holidays.  Partly cloudy skies and 15miles visibility.  Winds were light offshore 2 to 4kts and the sea surface was smooth.  The air was a chilly 48.8º (Hey!  It's December!) and the water is holding at 63.0º.  Low tide was at 9:00am +3.2' and high tide will be at 1:42pm +3.9'.  It's a weak west swell out of 262º at 2.6' and it was a crunchy 2' to 3' and not quite deluxe...  Maybe mañana...
