Amazing Alpine Thursday Surf & Culture Report

Took the train out of Montreux straight up into the alps. Some amazing vistas on the way. Plenty of water, but we saw tons of hang gliders who floated around for hours on end. Got to take some huevos to jump off of a perfectly good alp. We also noted some rafters on a couple of the more navigable rivers, but there were also some class 4+ rapids along the road.
Low tide is at 9:33am +0.7' and high tide follows at 4:59pm (not 5) +4.1'. Swell is out of the SSW at 2.6' and the water is 62.1. Does that sound right? It's all snow melt up here and in the high 30's, low 40's. Brrr! But it's beautiful…
So, after hours of waiting for the clouds to part, we finally got a good shot of the Jungfrau (#1) and the surrounding peaks. It's the Jungfrau, Eiger and Schwartzmonk. Ski lifts all over town, but only the highest peaks are covered. Actually there are a couple of glaciers up there and we'll ID them for the Eiger and the curious…
