Frequent Flier Friday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

Met with the Bishop Montgomery Team this morning in a practice session at Hermosa Pier.  It was pretty good!  The above photo is of Brett Balcer (ace body boarder and photographer.)  He got a great waterproof camera that looks like your basic digital unit (with three and a half inch viewfinder) and you just take it into the water and start shooting.  Let's hope he got some good shots of the Coaches!

Some high clouds this morning with 8 miles visibility and a fair amount of haze.  Winds are calm and the sea surface is glassy.  The air temp is 59.7f and the water is 59.9f dropping below 60 for the first time since May 19th!  That was a pretty good run!  High tide was at 5:15am +4.9' and low tide will follow at 11:31am +1.5'.  The buoy is reading 2.3' and the Avenues are looking almost ridable at 2' and Hermosa had some nice sets at 2' to 3'.  The water has gone back to it's usual murkiness, but it sure was clear yesterday.

The other photo is of the view north from Ave. C.  It was actually better than it looks.  You're at the mercy of whenever the camera takes it's shot.  Should be more of the same tomorrow and the surf predictors tell us that there's supposed to be an increase in size over the next couple of days.  It is our fervent hope that they know of what they speak!
