Back On Track Tuesday Surf and Culture Report

Lost Boys and Co...

Oh yeah, the South Shore of Oahu has some pretty good waves.  This is from the southern tip of Diamond Head looking over toward Hawaii Kai.  At low tide there are some crazy mudflats there, but when the surf is good and the tide is right - there are some great waves.  It's also a standup/windsurfing/kite surfing destination because of the way the trades whip around the point.

Very nice today in the South Bay!  We have 20 miles visibility under partly (mostly sunny) skies.  Winds are offshore (the first day in quite a while) by 3.5kts and the sea surface is glassy to smooth.  The air temperature is 65.8° and the water is a pleasant 69.4°.  High tide was at 8:09am +4.6' and low tide will be at 1:18pm +1.9'.  The buoy is reading a swell out of the SW at 255° and 3.3'.  We're calling the waves 3' to 4' and pretty good shape.  Torrance, the Avenues, Knob, Topaz and Sapphire are all breaking and we heard that the Cove was going off as well.  Some weather up north and it seems to be sending some good waves our way (but so far not the rain!)

Even if you got up late this morning, run down and take a look!
