Right After Torrance Thursday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

"He has the mathematical abilities of a Clydesdale."
  David Letterman

Our first photo (and our second photo for that matter) is from Suzanne.  This could be anywhere tropical.  Actually, we think it's her view from the bathroom window.  People pay big bucks to travel to places and see that many palm trees.  This makes going to the john at her apartment a destination.  People make reservations to get married in her powder room...

Another beautiful summer's day!  22 miles visibility, with a bit of smoggies on the horizontal.  At the moment no clouds.  Winds are offshore by 6.2kts and the sea surface is glassy to smooth.  Started out a bit chilly (mostly because we took Boomfwappa to the airport at 5:30am) at 55.5° (and YES, we know it's not as chilly as Boston, Boise or Buffalo, but we don't live there for just that reason.  And those places aren't chilly - they're FREEZE-ASS cold.)  Oh yeah, the water was 57.9° (Since we're bitchin' about shit - it was 83° yesterday in Puerto Escondido - that was the WATER!)  Low tide is at 11:03am +0.3' and high tide will follow just after sunset at 5:37pm +2.9'.  We have a swell out of 223° SW at 3.0'.  We looked at the Cove and there were 15 people out, it was wally and the weeds were starting to show.  On a flier, we looked at Rat and it was small (2' to 3') but had a few little slipping through the Laminariales (brown kelp.)  We went out and caught a few, put a smile on our face and left...

The second photo is of the fog rolling in.  We've tried in vain to capture it's atmospheric nature and how it creeps in on little cat's feet, blah, blah, blah...  Suzanne seems to have gotten the feeling.
