We got a parking ticket yesterday in Hermosa, while eating doughnuts with the boys in the Becker factory. The cop was right behind the street sweeper and nailed our X-Terrible ass. Fortunately, they didn't say anything about being parked in the wrong direction! All of that being what it is, here are a few things not to say when the cops pull you over (courtesy Lawrence Dorfman): "I can't reach my license unless you hold my beer." "Aren't you that guy from the Village People?" "Bad cop! No doughnut." "You're not going to check the trunk are you?" "I was trying to keep up with traffic. Yes I know there are no other cars around - that's how far ahead of me they are." "What do you mean, "Have I been drinking?" You're the trained specialist."
Sunny to cloudy this morning, with 25 miles visibility. Winds were offshore at checkout by 3.3kts and the sea surface was smooth. The air temp was 53.3° and the water is 55.9°. High tide was at 9:41am +5.7' and low tide will follow at 4:45pm -0.5' for the last minus tide of this cycle. The buoy is reading a WSW swell out of 255° at 2.6'. Now we know it says 2.6', but we'd swear Hermosa and 26th St. were 3' to 4' with some nice long lines drifting into some rather hectic endings. Better at the higher tide getting even more walled at low.
Okay, it's now been enough time where we don't have to worry about the "born yesterday" jokes. Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome Lilly Anne Burke to the world! Weighing in at 6lbs 4oz and 19.25" she made her entrance on January 4th at 1:44am. What a way to start the day! We are currently in contact with Rebecca trying to find out if her ears are in the normal position or if it's just the hat. We have also purchased some eyebrow pencil for when we get to Boise.
Photo number 2 features the boys settled right into their annual positions in the bar at Kincaid's. Sully, the Coach and Tyrone James - still crazy after all these years, despite rumors to the contrary...
