Woodpile Wednesday Surf & Culture Report

Lost Boys & Co...

On the right we have our own Ché Barahona, who we still think is one of the best shapers ever (and we've seen a few.)  He introduced us to this guy on the left who's name is Hap or Happy or Dudley or something.  Wait - it's like Hap Jacobs.  We're thinking we've heard of him.  Like did he make one of the boards in the "Endless Summer?"  Okay, we can't stand it any longer...  We got to meet HAP JACOBS live and in person!  We were pretty damned stoked.  Like, quite a bit of hero worship going on on our part.  The first boards we had were Jacob's.  If you're going to catalog legends, he's right up there in the pantheon...

Sunny skies this morning with lots of visibility as far as we could see.  Winds were calm to light out of the NNW and the sea surface was glassy.  The air temperature was 48.5° and the water was 55.9°.  Low tide was at 10:22am +1.7' and high tide will be at 3:51pm +2.5'.  The buoy is barely reading a west swell out of 262° at 1.6'.  We're calling it 1' and poor and everyone agrees that nothing is coming until Friday.  That is, unless something happens tomorrow...  How's that for forecasting!
